The difference between a batch that installs perfectly and one that costs you a redo comes down to a few spec points most buyers skip. Check your supplier's published spec. If they don't list resin content, ask. If they won't share it, I'd treat that as a red flag. The 'cheap' quartz often requires more careful handling during fabrication (more chipping), more frequent sealing (if it's a lower-quality resin), and sometimes replacement sooner. - Beware of 'custom blending' without documentation. Some suppliers will mix batches to 'save' a run that would otherwise be rejected. That's fine for non-visible areas, but specify that visible slabs must be from a single batch.
- Check the warranty fine print. Many engineered quartz warranties exclude staining from specific substances or require proof of regular sealing. If the warranty has seven exceptions, it's not much of a warranty.
